About Me

Biographical Info

I was introduced to the tin whistle when I was in kindergarten; I could not put it down. I would walk around the house playing songs that I learned in school and could not wait for performance day.

With the enthusiasm I had for my tin whistle, my parents signed me up for flute lessons in 3rd grade and I fell in love with the instrument and the sophisticated sound that it made.

Through Manchester Community Music School, I was instructed by a phenomenal teacher who grew my love for the instrument even more. For years I participated in group ensembles, private lessons, and flute choirs. I was encouraged to participate in performance competitions where experienced flautists would critique my style and skill level.

I was exposed to a variety of playing experiences and I have performed at Plymouth State University, Summer Music in the Park Series, and a multitude of Christmas performances such as the NYE Pops. I continue to play the flute during monthly mass at my high school.

When Covid became a part of our lives, I heard about nursing home residents that were not allowed visits from family and friends. I was saddened to learn that they were isolated from the rest of the world. It was at that point that I began to assemble a mental image of how I could help those who were living independently from family. I created MUSIC AS MEDICINE as a way to help a generation of people who were isolated and alone, and who did not have the luxury of living at home. Furthermore, music therapy has many physical benefits such as reduced joint pain and anxiety along with an increased immune system response.

MUSIC AS MEDICINE came to fruition out of my love for music and desire to comfort those in need.
